Sweetyoga’s summer wellness retreats provide a homely space to practice, learn and relax. Two yoga sessions daily, morning and afternoon, wrapped around a theme to help you connect to your body wisdom to extend its uses beyond your mat. Yoga Therapeutics is accessible, adaptive and taught in a way that will suit your needs and lifestyle. You can go about your days feeling relaxed and agenda free! Outside of yoga there is a private pool next to the vineyard, a group sound bath session, two surprise practices, the much raved about menu and wine, picnic outing, wild river swimming, massages or napping! The luxury villa is set in the countryside in Central Portugal, it’s peaceful, less touristy making it the ideal location for an enquiry based yoga and health retreat.

There is more to yoga than the poses and here on Sweetyoga’s wellness and yoga retreat you can learn what that means and put it into action! Whether you are familiar or new to yoga, your findings from the active morning practice will be taken into the afternoon introspective practices for wholeness. Your performance isn’t judged here, I encourage a respectful presence to your needs whilst learning tools that can help with daily stressors. When practicing in a felt not forced way you’ll feel deeply centered with the benefits being obvious! Comfort in your practice is a great way to build resilience, self regulation which invites self growth past the physical.

NUTRITIOUS & DELICIOUS

We know being fully catered for on a yoga and health retreat is a welcome pause from meal planning, shopping and washing up! Our vegetarian* retreat menu is eclectic, nutritious and made from scratch with care and attention. We’re happy to share our recipes with you and home grown produce from our garden such as tomatoes, figs and tayberries. Regular retreaters look forward to our famed caponata, dhal’s and flatbreads. The self-serve breakfast is from 8am with one morning in noble silence. Lunch served at 1pm and dinner at 8pm both on the patio. Available with your evening meal are a selection of Portuguese wines and soft drinks at local prices. *We can adapt the menu for specific diets but check at the point of booking.

HOME FROM HOME

We chose this villa for our health retreats in Central Portugal because of it’s countryside setting, spaciousness and quality. Over three floors there are 7 ensuite bedrooms, two kitchens, 3 dining areas, a living room, yoga space, a pool, tennis court and patio. The house overlooks its own vineyard with fruit trees and the hills beyond, so you are surrounded by nature but still have your home comforts.

Situated on the outskirts of a typical Portuguese village 50km from Coimbra, you will easily adjust to the leisurely way of life. Unique to this area is a beautifully kept river beach with bar/cafe and natural swimming. This is a 10 minute walk away which is also our picnic destination. The village is well serviced with a chemist, supermarket, post office, cafe and cashpoint should you need anything. We have lived nearby for many years which gives us the advantage of local inside knowledge.

DAILY SCHEDULE

08:00 Self-serve breakfast (noble silence Wednesday am)
10:30 30 mins theme chat followed by 60/90 mins practice (depends on group)
13:00 Lunch served alfresco (Tuesday – picnic day)
Free time: swim, read, massages, walks, individual sound baths
18:00 60 mins yoga tools to stimulate or soothe your nervous system.  (Tuesday group sound bath session by Nina)
20:00 Evening meal, Portuguese wine available to purchase

There are two short surprise practices during the retreat, you’ll be called to the practice space by the sound of a drum! Come as you are to experience dropping into yoga, meditation or breathing without the mental preparation. Try them out if you wish! You are under no obligation to attend everything on the schedule. We will follow the above schedule as much as we can but reserve the right to alter it if need be due to something outside of our control.

Hold your 2024 preferred date with £200 now & £200 by end February 2024 (these amounts count as a deposit) OR
Pay £400 deposit with the remainder 50 days before the retreat OR
Pay in full at the time of booking.
Booking within 50 days requires the full amount.
